Biopolymer and foreign-body removal is a corrective procedure designed to address complications arising from the injection of non-approved or improperly administered substances into the body. These substances: which may include liquid silicone, biopolymers, hydrogel, synthetic oils, mineral or petroleum-derived materials, and unidentified fillers: can cause a range of serious complications over time, including pain, hardening, inflammation, migration to other areas of the body, deformity, and significant emotional distress.
Unlike standard cosmetic procedures, foreign-body removal is a corrective and reconstructive undertaking.
